    What the manufacturer says;
    The Quick Threading Needle makes threading easy. Sometimes it can be difficult to find the eye in the needle. The Quick Threading Needle makes this simpler. This needle has a small slot on the side of the needle eye through which the thread simply slides into the eye.

    Use the Quick Threading Needle as an alternative when your sewing machine does not have a needle threader.
    Do not use the Quick Threading Needle when working with thin, fine materials.

    Please be aware, needles are sharp and can also present a choking risk. Do not leave within reach of children and always supervise any minor using a sewing machine. Handle this item with care.

Previously Asked Questions

Lyndon Buck asked...

Why are they not suitable for thin materials? Are there any needles like this that are suitable for ordinary cotton fabrics?

Official response...

Thank you for your question.

Whilst Schmetz do not specify why they are not suitable for thin/fine materials, in our opinion this would be due to the potential for material to get snagged by the slot in the side of the needle, potentially damaging the material. Unfortunately, for sewing machines their are not any other alternative options our only suggestion would be if you had scrap material to test out the needle before use to check whether any damage occurs on the material in use.
