What the manufacturer says;
The Top Stitch Needle can be used with a wide range of fabrics, and the long eye makes it particularly suited for multi-directional patchwork/quilting and anywhere where thick threads are used. 

The thread is guaranteed to glide effortlessly through the long needle eye, creating fewer skipped stitches. It is ideal for sewing with two or thicker threads, as well as for decorative and topstitching work. 

Each needle features a light green band to identify its type, and a coloured band to help identify the size. 

Please be aware, needles are sharp and can also present a choking risk. Do not leave within reach of children and always supervise any minor using a sewing machine. Handle this item with care.
