What the manufacturer says;
This needle was specially developed for using metal effect yarns. With 2mm, it has an extremely long needle eye in relation to the needle size which remains the same length in all needle sizes. The longer needle eye allows the metallic thread to glide extremely gently through the needle. This help to optimally prevent thread breakages. 

If you require a different needle size to what is available, you can use the Top Stitch Needle. 

Metallic embroidery or effect yarns should always be processed slowly so the thread does not break. 
Suitable for use with foil like metallic threads. 

Each needle features a dusky pink band to identify its type, and a coloured band to help identify the size.

Please be aware, needles are sharp and can also present a choking risk. Do not leave within reach of children and always supervise any minor using a sewing machine. Handle this item with care.
